About the Author

Author, illustrator and teacher, Bertha Catherine Melikyan has a Master of Divinity, a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from St. John's University in New York and a Bachelor's degree in Education and Psychology. Additionally, she is an ordained Minister of Peace from the Seminary of Spiritual Peacemaking. Bertha has more than 25 years of hands-on experience working with children as a teacher and an educational director. From her experience she learned that when children tap into their God-given potential, they become very powerful. Bertha 's life mission is to help children to find God inside their hearts and to use their gifts and talents to their best abilities. It is her belief that every talent we possess is a gift from God and what we make of our lives is a gift back to our Creator.

Bertha published her first children's book, MyMiracle, in 2008 and has received much praise and acclaim from the children's literary community for teaching children "to celebrate their uniqueness and inner beauty." She is currently working on her second book in the MyMiracle series, the MyMiracle puppet show and movie.

As an accredited Journey Practitioner and student in A Course in Miracles, Bertha applies the Journey healing and growing technique to children with great results. Through her many years of teaching, she firmly believes that it is absolutely essential for children, their teachers and their parents to be on the same path emotionally, spiritually, physically and academically. Bertha believes that emotionally healthy children are not afraid to make mistakes because they understand that mistakes are a part of the learning process. She is the founder of the Spiritual Parenting Seminars and is also a strong advocate for nutrition and healthy eating for both children and adults.

A question that Bertha often asks children and parents is this: "Do you know that the omnipotent and powerful God also dwells within you? Do you want to get in touch with Him?" She teaches her students that it is God's greatest joy when we claim our inner spiritual power.
